Literature Text

Growing from small, a dust of a seed

We stumble and crawl, we fall and we bleed

Taking over land, one step at a time

Holding onto her hand, she tells you you're fine

We speak and we cry, when things are getting rough

We mumble and lie, because the truth's not enough

A size six is too big, but we get it instead

As if we want to dig, at the kid in our head

Through forests or light, through tall trees and forts

We put up a fight, cutting youth of life short

Struggling to grow, because we still haven't learnt

That what we don't know, is what gets us all burnt

Desperation rings, like soaking wet rags

Our baby lungs sting, as we flare up our fags

I've never been more scared, than where we stand now

I may be long haired, but no wrinkle's in my brow

We just ignore the facts, that we're growing up in vain

That we just need to relax, and let our childhood reign
Children these days are growing up far too fast.
I'm scared.
I don't like seeing young people acting as if they're adults.
You get to be a kid for 18 years ish. Not even half of your life. LIVE.

A 'fag' is a cigarette - I don't know if everyone in the world is familiar with that term, but where I live we are.

Wow, that's deep!
I'm 19 but to be honest, I'm still a child! As in that Child at Heart still controls my body, and I'm planning to keep it this way till my 20th birthday at least!
